PEARL CITY SHOPPING CENTER MERCHANTS ASSOCIATION DONATES $2,500 TO FULLY FUND HIGHLANDS INTERMEDIATE HALLOWEEN PARTY AND HAUNTED HOUSE
PEARL CITY, HI – October 21, 2026 — Highlands Intermediate School announced today an expanded partnership with the Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association, which has generously contributed a grand total of $2,500 to fully support and sponsor the upcoming Highlands Halloween Party 2026, scheduled for this Saturday, October 24!
The annual event brings together hundreds of Highlands Intermediate students, families, and community members for a safe and fun-filled evening featuring food, costumes, games, and school spirit. The main highlight is the student-designed and built Highlands Haunted House 14: “Neon Nightmares,” which is staffed by 51 Highlands Intermediate Student Council members serving as Guides, Actors, and Special FX crew. The haunted house welcomes well over 1,000 guests across its six-day run.
The total direct operational cost to produce and furnish the event’s features and entertainment is $1,475. The expanded $2,500 contribution from the Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association completely covers these expenses—ensuring all features remain accessible to local families—while allocating remaining funds directly toward future student leadership and activities programming.
"We are overwhelmed by the extraordinary generosity of the Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association," said Eric White, Student Activities Coordinator at Highlands Intermediate. "Increasing their support to a grand total of $2,500 means every single operational expense—from our strolling magicians and balloon twisters down to the 3,000 glowsticks—is completely covered. Support like theirs makes a lasting difference in keeping this tradition alive and affordable while building school spirit and community pride."
