Classroom Expectations: - Be in your seat when the bell rings - Bring planner and all school supplies to class daily - Write down reminders and assignments in planner - Place backpacks on the ground - Cellular phones and mobile devices remain in the backpack during class - Leaving classroom is allowed only when excused by the teacher
Consequences for Misbehavior: 1 st offense: Verbal warning 2 nd offense: 2 nd verbal warning, detention 1 to 3 times at recess or lunch, OR phone call to parent/guardian 3 rd offense: Referral to Counselor and a call to parent/guardian Referral to the counselor or call to parents may happen at any time depending on the severity of the offense or attitude of the student. The student may also be prohibited from participating in activities at the discretion of the team teachers, counselors, or administrators.
Laule’a Achievement Days: An Achievement Day is held for all students that earn a “B-” (80% or better) in all classes with no referrals. The activity for Quarters 2, 3 and 4 will be off campus.
Laule’a Community Outreach Projects: Teachers on Laule’a are committed to extending learning beyond the classroom. There will be two outreach projects throughout the year that the students will participate in with their Study Skills class. Each project will involve learning about a community issue such as homelessness and assembling a small gift to present to the target group. These projects may require monetary or supply donations.
Tutoring: Tutoring is available from 2:10 to 3:00pm daily, except Wednesdays in all teacher’s rooms. Some teachers may also offer tutoring from 7:15-7:55am. Students and parents may make arrangements with these teachers. Tutoring is optional, except when a student’s grade falls below a “C” or is required by a teacher. Parents/guardians will be contacted when tutoring is mandatory.
Conferences: Parents, teachers or counselors may request a conference when there is a need. Please make arrangements with Team Laule’a counselor - Ms. Leong.
Late Work Policy: Assignments and due dates, are posted in each classroom daily. Students are required to write all assignments in their planner. All assignments are expected to be turned in by the due date. Assignments that are turned in late will not receive full credit. Students with excused absences will have additional time to complete assignments.
Student Absences: Students are responsible for requesting all work missed during absences. Students will be allowed to make-up all assignments, projects, or assessments when an absence is excused. The student must request their work within 2 days of their return to school.
Grading: All grades will be updated on Infinite Campus minimally once a week. Students and parents have access to Infinite Campus through their own personal accounts. If a student or parent is unable to access their account, please contact the counselor, Ms. Leong. A = 90% and above B = 80% to 89% C = 70% to 79% D = 60% to 69% F = 59% and below
